You don’t need to become vegan to benefit from eating less meat and dairy, so this month we, alongside West Berks Climate Action Network and GreenFest, are running a campaign to encourage and support all of us to eat more healthily. The café menu includes more vegetarian and vegan options than previously - although we are not allowed to open the café at present, most of these options are available for take away. Just ask.
We have free recipe cards for you to try at home. These are available in the shop and below. Our aim is to have two or three different recipes each week, and have the spices etc. required in small quantities. (Many of us spend a lot of money buying different jars only for them to sit unused in the cupboard for years!)
We have videos to watch - see below.
And we have lots of tips and inspiration - see our Facebook page.
Author and award-winning chef Ollie Hunter (MasterChef semi-finalist 2013) has made this video for us - thanks Ollie! He shows how to cook one of his delicious vegetarian recipes: squash, local blue cheese and nutmeg pasta. The recipe can be adapted by using nuts instead of blue cheese. Delicious!
The video below is 'Cook with Colline' showing how to make mushroom stroganoff and vegan pancakes. Yum!
And here we have Wendy making avocado and chocolate mousse. Mouth watering!
