A day to remember!
A celebration after all these months of lockdown, even if

A celebration after all these months of lockdown, even if
we were not quite there yet!
Spread across three courtyards . . .
One of the aims of the day was to support small businesses that had been so badly affected by Covid and with well over 1000 people attending, we are pleased that they benefitted. The comments made are very moving - here are just a few.
The images below capture some of the people and events of the day, but unfortunately we didn't get photos of everyone and everything. If you have photos of the day that you would like to share, please send to hncshop@yahoo.co.uk We would love to see them.
SUMMARY OF THE EVENT |
Over 40 different stalls ( information lower down the page)
0% gin, rum, beer, cider and other specialist soft drinks
We had planned three bars for the event. But you know what they say about the best laid plans . . .
The postponement of un-lockdown to July means that in order to sell alcohol at the event we would have to insist on table service for everyone. This is not practical given that we would have five different sources of food and drink, all of which have to be paid for separately, so we have taken the difficult decision to only serve soft drinks alongside the BBQ and food from the café. But that doesn't mean we are serving ordinary soft drinks! Shelley and Nathalie from local business MeSoThirsty are bringing a range of 0% gins, rums, beers, ciders, etc so you can have all the taste with none of the rules and regulations. They will also offer drinks such as elderflower with goodies to be confirmed. In addition, they will have their range of specialist gins and other spirits, to drink at the event or to take home, |
BBQ
Other food and drink
Cakes, sausage rolls, other deli items, soft drinks, tea and americano style coffee, sandwiches, wraps and ice creams will be available through the rear doors of the café.
(For other barista coffee, please use the front doors of the shop, but there may be a queue.) Special offer for the market: coffee/tea with a slice of cake for only £4. |
Information about local clubs, activities, etc.
Lots of people are new to the area, so this display will show what is available in our village. Please get in touch if you would like to contribute to the display and have not yet been contacted. The more the merrier!

Community painting
A first for Hampstead Norreys, thanks to talented local artist Simon of Armadillo Images (see below for information about his stall). Simon is bringing a large board and acrylic paints, and anyone who would like to have a go, children and adults, can contribute to a painting of Hampstead Norreys, e.g. the shop, the church, the village hall, the pub, the school, and so on. The picture below shows the result of a similar venture at Thatcham. We hope everyone will have a go: don't worry if you are not particularly artistic as Simon will advise. Should be fun. (And it is free!)
