TOY SWAP SHOP - part of our drive to live more sustainably
Concerned about the mega amounts of toys no longer in use, and the cost of new toys, we put our heads together to think of a way of up-cycling and sharing toys - and our HNCS Toy Swap was born. We ran it in November 2019, but Covid prevented us hosting it in 2020. However, we are delighted to be running it this year, in conjunction with Chuckles Playgroup.
SATURDAY 27 NOVEMBER - outside the shop
From 9am to 11am, good-quality unwanted toys, for any age, can be brought to the shop (no books or soft toys please). You will receive swap tokens which can be exchanged for goods once the swap shop opens.
From 11:30am to 2pm, the swap shop will be open. Goods can also be bought at bargain prices, with profits benefitting Chuckles and Helen and Douglas House Children's Hospice.

Although the prime aim was not to raise money, in 2019 £170 was raised at the event, shared between Helen and Douglas House and West Berkshire Hospital, for the children's ward.
We hope that 2021 will be as successful!
